Kunstverein NY is a curatorial office, an international platform for exhibitions, discussions, and the circulation of ideas.
By the invitation of Krist Gruijthuijsen and Maxine Kopsa, founders of Kunstverein based in Amsterdam, the New York chapter joins a new network of sister-organizations (Amsterdam, Istanbul, Milan), starting an open dialogue with artists, curators, writers, and theorists working world-wide.
In large part, the space will be programmed by special guests suggested by the Kunstverein NY advisory board, consisting primarily of artists. Kunstverein NY seeks to experiment with, de-structure, reduce, and expand upon, existing exhibition formats, creating a lively and friendly atmosphere to reconsider individual roles within the art world, to devising new strategies of display and representation.
